The Department of Student Activities is responsible for booking events and performers, etc. and planning activities that represent the student body’s interests. DSA is comprised of 6 committees, each headed by a senior chair, all overseen by the DSA Director: Black Programming, College Music, Films, International Programming, Speakers, and Special Events. The senior chair (and if applicable, the junior chair) of each committee is responsible for running weekly meetings and for every aspect of programming including working with agency representatives, coordinating activities for visiting artists, and are charged with creating and implementing various types of print, television, and radio advertising campaigns. Committees meets weekly to develop programming ideas and focus on acts that interest a variety of students. Chairs of these committees are also responsible for the individual committee budgets and trying to provide the highest quality programming at the most financially reasonable price. |
