Promotions, Public Relations, and Special Projects.
- Publicity and Promotions:
Publicity and Promotions is responsible for gathering information for and distributing the MSA brochure, handbook, and press packet. Publicity and Promotions promotes the image of MSA to the campus at large by advertising events and issues relevant to MSA, MSA’s Departments, and MSA auxiliaries. This committee is also in charge of coming up with an official MSA view book to be used at promotional events such as “MSA Info Day.” This committee ensures that the advertising for MSA is done with the best interest of the Association.
- Public Relations:
Public Relations is responsible for press releases regarding MSA. Public Relations Committee is charged with providing campus and community media information about the business and events of the MSA through, but not limited to, press releases to the media and the creation of a press packet. This committee is also responsible for serving as a liaison with campus and community media.
- Special Projects:
Special Projects conducts surveys for students to better understand and serve the needs of the Mizzou student body. The Special Projects Committee informs the student body of MSA business and events and receives input from students about these actions and activities through, but not limited to, the use of surveys for the department. Special Projects will aid in developing new ideas and ways of organizing students to publicize MSA activities about the purpose of MSA in conjunction with the Publicity and Promotions Committee.
DSC also contains two auxiliaries which act independently of the department and report to different supervisors within the Department of Student Life, but are funded through DSC and are still subsidiaries of the department. The two auxiliaries which are associated with DSC include KCOU and MUTV.
- KCOU
- MUTV

DSC uses various strategies outside of simple surveys to ensure communication stays consistent within MSA and other entities outside of MSA such as MSA Info Days (twice a year), monthly meetings, and socials such as the MSA Meet and Greet (twice a year), retreats, and special luncheons. Outside of MSA, DSC plans monthly meetings with department and organization heads to be sure that all students have an equal voice.
