The Board of Elections Commissioners (BEC) has three core executives that are appointed each semester separately by the President, Chief Justice, and Senate Speaker to create a separate entity from MSA to be a collaborative, unbiased group. The BEC oversees the MSA Presidential elections, MSA Senate elections, and any other referendums that come to a student vote (which includes everything from fee increases or creations to changes to the MSA Constitution). Members of the board write the rules and regulations to ensure fair elections as well as host debates and other opportunities for students to meet and learn about their representatives. BEC also serves as a liaison between the students and IATS to ensure the election not only happens, but also happens in a way that is conducive to allowing students to vote. If you’d like to contact the BEC, email BEC@missouri.edu |
