Sustainability Student Fee

All students at the University of Missouri currently pay $1.87 to Sustain Mizzou to assist with the logistical challenge of coordinating sustainability initiatives across our campus. In 2016, when the fee was adopted, the student body decided that in 2022, the student of the University of Missouri shall reconsider our commitment to paying a Sustainability Student Fee.

In addition to voting on continuing the Sustainability Student Fee, the Missouri Student Association Senate has decided to ask students if we want to make our commitment permanent. Meaning we can vote to secure the student fee as an essential piece of student priorities at the university.

The Sustainability Student Fee, like other Student Activity Fees, are reviewed annually by the Student Fee Review Committee, which is a group of students who audit and provide accountability and oversight to all student fees at the University of Missouri.

Student Oversight on the Student Media Fee

In 2020, the students of the University of Missouri adopted the Student Media Fee, of $2.50 per student per semester, to strategically support the Maneater, KCOU, MUTV and StreamMizzou as student organizations and programs.

During the vote, a clerical error was made that did not provide oversight of the student fee to the Student Fee Review Committee (SFRC), a group of students who audit and provide accountability and oversight to all student fees at the University of Missouri. The Missouri Student Association Senate has decided to place a vote before the University of Missouri undergraduate students to ask your opinion on amending the fiscal oversight of the Student Media Fee.

Changes to the Missouri Student Association's Constitution

The Missouri Student Association’s Consitution is a primary governing document of the Association and outlines its powers and policies for advocating for students. The attached document displays the proposed changes to Missouri Student Association’s Consitution. Changes include removing the outdated Department of Student Services from the Executive Branch, standardizing Organizational Appointments within MSA Senate, and removing obsolete language regarding Joint Sessions.

Election of Academic Senators

The Missouri Student Association Senate is comprised of student leaders from across campus who work to represent you and create a better Mizzou experience for all undergraduates. Senators work on policy issues, and advocacy, and learn more about the needs of our community.
